About Michael and The Team

MICHAEL ALLEN: Michael is a successful, creative photographer and film maker based in Memphis Tennessee, with over 20 years production experience, and a very successful, award winning career, a lifelong learner who continually strives to think “out of the box” and offer the very best for his clients. A member of the WPPI and PPA, Michael is also an author, a speaker, and businessman. Michael’s work has been featured in publications across the globe. Michael’s favorite camera is the Canon R5 MK2 and the 5d Mark IV & 6d HDDSLR cinema systems with Red Rock rails, micro dolly, steady tracker. He’s also right at home with Canon C500 Cinema Cameras, Sony Cinema and the Panasonic line of professional P2 Cameras. Several production companies use Michael as their director of photography and cinematographer. Michael and his wife Janice, who is an award winning hairstylist and camera assistant are available for travel worldwide.

JANICE ALLEN: Our assistant and second photographer is Janice Allen, Michael’s beautiful wife. Janice and Michael have been married going on 18 years, and has a wonderful talent as an artist and photographer. She’s worked along side Michael on hundreds of projects, from weddings, to editorial magazine shoots. Her talents include being a world renown hairstylist, owning and running one of the largest salons in the south, she’s won many awards for her incredible skills. She loves working hard, and she bring the best out in people. They got 3 amazing children, and 2 wonderful dogs. Their favorite locations usually have a beach scene involved. She’s also a talented makeup artist. She’s got amazing people skills, no wonder after running a top Aveda Lifestyle salon and handling her huge client base, she’s just about as amazing a person as you can imagine!
