Commercial Photography - Memphis - Nashville "Fast" - Tim Howard is known for his speed to earn the world cup title. For this shot I used a motion blur to illustrate his speed. Our studio gets calls from across the US, and we've worked with agencies, magazines and companies from GQ to Walmart, to 7up and many more. One of our favorite shoots last year was for an agency in Phoenix Arizona, with offices in Hollywood. Alex Koffler films gave us a call to set up and coordinate a worldwide shoot in Memphis for World Cup Soccer Champion Tim Howard for one of his sponsors, 7up, Dr Pepper and Nike. Our role was to handle video production, and acquire the studio, lighting and facilities for the shoot. Behind the scenes we worked with the production group to produce the video for the tv commercials, and set the stage for the stills shoot for photographer Warwick Saint. The shoot lasted all day, with over 1000 still photos taken of Tim Howard in action, kicking and catching a soccer ball, and leaping through the air for the action shots that Warwick needed for the promotional stills. In the afternoon my production crew set lights, camera and sound and we shot over a dozen tv spots that would be edited and distributed around the globe. Our company has facilitated shoots like these many times, and we feel like the welcoming committee for Memphis. Memphis has a huge draw for its music reputation, and every celebrity and crew that we work with loves the feel and flavor that Memphis has to offer their productions. Here's one of the stills that I captured from the video of Tim in between takes. He was great to work with, and behind the scenes he was a perfect gentleman even with his world renown accolades.

Corporate Photographer Memphis Tennessee - I get calls from around the world because of our professional photography, and moreover for our unique photographic style. I've been doing this a long time, the experience definitely sets me in a higher league. My passion drives me to always think out of the box, and constantly strive to offer my best. For this shoot we spent about 2 days shooting in various locations around the county, and probably shot 500 images. Working long distance with the art director, I was given cart blanc to be creative and come up with an award winning image that the company would use for their worldwide advertising. Shooting real people is harder than shooting professional models, I have to work hard to get them to relax and be themselves. The goal is to bring out their confidence and deliver images that will hopefully tell their story, and draw an audience. I have a goal to make my subjects look like leaders, and give them images that will boost their audience.

Art Direction - Michael Allen Photography Memphis - Here's a shot from one of my personal projects for a new product branding shoot for my wife's company, www.laveii.com. For this shoot my wife and I found Ali, one of my wife's clients who bravely volunteered to model for us on the hottest day that Memphis had to offer in July. This was one of many shots that we captured that day. We had so many that may be better technically, but my goal was to capture something unique, artistic and captivating. This is what I love to do, and how I approach a shoot when my clients allow me total artistic freedom. I started my career in photography the same way, I saw what professional photographers were doing back in my early days, and no one was doing what I did. The photo world in my city was stiff, posed, and pretty much technically perfect, boring photography. I do my best when working with other art directors to capture their vision, but when they ask me, I usually give them more than they ever imagined. I guess that's the artist in me. For this shot, I did this effect in camera. No photoshop on this one other than a little toning effect in Lightroom.

The Buckle is a nationwide fashion chain featuring fashions for women and men, and can be found in every major market in the country. For this shoot I used several lighting techniques, from available lighting, flash, bounce and using lenses from 50 mm, 200mm and 15mm fisheye utiling a Canon 5d Mark II
